The Carr Fasteners product range and dot brand was established in Adelaide in 1928, and they were the first company worldwide to manufacture and patent the self piercing eyelet concept. Today these products still form a large portion of the company business along with durable fasteners and the lift the dot product range. Carr Fasteners are the only Australian and New Zealand manufacturers of the unique lift the dot socket.

Diversified Metal Fasteners Pty Ltd purchased the Carr Fastener product range in April 2004. The purchase involved the transfer of machinery, technical information and loyal employees to new premises in Wingfield South Australia .
